Once again, Ambassador Luis Suárez Hernández visited Central America and this time he went to Honduras, which received the key to the City of La Ceiba, Atlántida.
But that was not all, he also personally delivered donations that he brought from Miami, Florida – United States to children from a native community.

Ambassador Suárez has been supporting the Honduran community in the United States and also Honduras for many years.

The Ambassador has supported with donations in Miami with toys for Christmas, food on Thanksgiving Day, also in 2020 support with containers of medical supplies, wheelchairs, canes, portable bathroom, bed, nebulizers, oxygen equipment, diapers for adults and babies, water, masks, glasses, groceries, etc.

As soon as Honduras was affected by two natural phenomena, the first was tropical depression Eta and then Hurricane Lota, which hit as a Tropical Storm, which generated strong impacts in various parts of the country, it quickly began to seek donations in conjunction with a Honduran Church and they began to distribute donations of food boxes that contained yogurt, cheese, meats, food, vegetables, spaghetti, beans, fruits, juice, milk, water, etc. Also on other occasions he donate shoes, clothes, toys, water.

When the pandemic arrived in 2020, he quickly contacted Jose Roberto Díaz, who at that time was the consul general of Honduras in Miami, and together with other consulates, they prepared a vaccination day which gave him the opportunity for tourists here in Miami to also be vaccinated with the consulate.

Since the 80’s the family of Ambassador Suárez Hernández has supported Honduran immigrants along with a church La Divina Providencia.

The Ambassador was in the city of La Ceiba and visited several tourist areas, autonomous communities, schools, restaurants to debut the rich typical cuisine.

He stayed at the Partenón Hotel, visited tourist places such as Laguna del Cacao, La Cuenca del Río Cangrejal, Playa del Cacao, Muelle Malecón / La Ceiba, Río Viejo / La Cuenca El Cangrejal, Playa de Corozal in Atlántida, Paseo de los Ceibeños in Los Maestros La Ceiba always felt safe and comfortable with his entourage.

He also visited the three restaurants of La Esquina del Sabor Garifuna, the Tipiktracho Restaurant and the Arrecife La Ceiba Restaurant and was able to enjoy some unique delicacies of the country such as the typical gastronomy of Honduras such as anafre, baleada and casabe and for dessert cheese flan, passion fruit cheesecake and coconut tablet as a typical drink the monkey lala and the guifiti also had the chance to try different tropical fruits one of them was the pineapple, papaya, coconut/green, coconut/yellow, tamarind and nance.

The Ambassador also visited the Municipality of La Ceiba, Atlántida and the Municipality of Jutiapa, Atlántida as well as the community
Garifuna Sambo Creek and went to the Marco A. Soto School and the Republic of Venezuela Institute.

They interacted with the Health Human Resources Training Center (CEFORHS La Ceiba).

Ambassador Luis Suárez Hernández was recognized with the
Key to the City of La Ceiba Atlántida / Honduras for his long history of supporting Hondurans internationally and especially with his donations during the pandemic, La Ceiba was also awarded the plaque – Gold Maya Chef and the medal – Gold Maya Chef as well as the Recognition diploma – Honor and Merit.

Ambassador Suárez thanked those who were with him on the visit such as Danna Borden Brown – Presidential Commissioner of the Environment for the Bay Islands, Alexander Ebanks – Mayor of Utila, Oscar Ayala – Mayor of Jutiapa / Atlántida, German Cruz – Councilor of the Municipality of La Ceiba. Deputy Ariel Montoya, Jerry Sabio – Former Mayor of La Ceiba, Johnny Joe Alonzo, Reny Gutiérrez, Karolina Flores, Director Franklin Martín Rivera, Maria Elena de Sabio, Lic. Evelin Rodriguez, Lic. Victor Hugo Pavon / Public Relations Officer of the Municipality of La Ceiba, Yester Pineda, Cheylor Omario Gutiérrez Miguel, Selvin Hernández, Attorney Martha Matute. The Ambassador also thanked the restaurants he visited and who invited him to eat those delicious meals and the Partenón Hotel for all its professional attention and especially security.

The Ambassador stated that he will soon return to Honduras to channel government protests and humanitarian aid.
